BASED IN ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS
VAN OOSTEROM STUDIO develops custom interiors through a close consideration of material, proportion, colour and context. Each project responds to the existing architecture and its history, bringing objects, materials and spatial interventions into a deliberate relationship. The studio’s evolving archive of furniture and objects, spanning different periods and origins, forms part of this process and is placed in dialogue with its own designs. Rather than pursuing a singular style, the studio works through these associations to construct interiors that are specific to their context yet independent of a particular moment. Collaborations with artists, designers and craftspeople extend this approach, allowing each project to evolve across disciplines and into spaces of lasting relevance for our clients.
